Bottom right, seated: Isachar and Isobel...twins.
Their names were interchanged as children, thus Isobel is the boy. He is also considerably older than his twin, about 6 years, for having lived in an alternate universe most of his life.
Isobel is a wanderer and feared Dragon Lord, his past is considerably messed up by several dysfunctional relationships with several masters. Earliest childhood memory was being saved by a pirate girl in the middle of the open ocean.
Isachar is a Princess of the "Old World" newly arrived in this one to find her missing brother and the soul of their Father, both whom had been taken by the Void many years ago.

Leaning over Isobel: Desiradera...Queen
Once the fiancee' of Prince Urdsoliel of the royal family, was made to marry another at his disappearance. Is rumored to be a Sorceress. Bears a strong resemblance to the Goddess of Memory, Elessario.

Standing, Left, male in profile: Urdul... the assassin.
Originally named Urdsophiel, prince, driven into his vagabond state by a hushed-up family tragedy. In retirement since taking Isobel as apprentice and remained in retirement even after Isobel ran away.
Being the last member of the former royal family, he alone knows the location of Mergaux the far-reaching.

Standing, Right, female in profile: Mergaux... sorceress.
Went into hiding after the Coven's great banishment, rumored to be buried somewhere waiting to be awakened by the call of royal blood.

Standing behind Urdul, right, female: Danou.. pirate.
The Pirate's daughter that fetched 5-year-old Isobel from the open sea and raised him as her pet (protecting him from slave drivers) until he was taken away by Urdul. Isobel finds her again after leaving Urdul, but leaves her soon after to begin his wanderings.

Standing behind Danou, male: Tare... Dragon Slayer.
Full name Tarelantere, member of a dragon-slaying clan. He was taken by the Void into the "Old World" where he met Isachar, and accompanied her back to his world as her lover. His occupation does not sit well with Isobel, and vice versa.

Standing behind Mergaux, male: Hasdea... Thief.
Another vagabond that knew Isobel by chance (they lived a few subterrenean caves away from each other and often traded goods). He later tags along, against Isobel's preference, in the search... bored of hiding.

Two women at the back: Abiedette and Jimeiarri... twins.
Both were part of the Coven. Abiedette was publicly executed at the great banishment, while Jimeiarri has been in hiding ever since. They are essentially one person.

Dragon: Crimson Dragon of which Isobel usually dreams.

Woman with Dragon: Elessario, the haunting Goddess of Memory whom, when looked upon, resembles someone from the viewer's memory but wiped of all color, except for burgundy eyes. In the beginning she appeared to Isobel with Isachar's face, but once he had been reunited with his sister her appearance became that which he would later associate to Desiradera.</sub>

in fact, they do a lot of lurvin even in the story itself (only it isn't explicit or smutty) ...do you know Why Isobel Ran Away? yes you do...
