The ASKARI
The story's a fantastic read, and the art is awesome.
I don't know why I wanted to suffer for this, but it's something I wanted to do. I'm obsessed with "full cast" drawings, I really am.
I like how this turned out, more or less.
Additional Latin phrases (apart from Cave Canem, which *testdrive has appended to the Askari):
"while we are among humans," is from Seneca while
"we are dust and shadow" is from Horace. In combination it becomes relevant to the story...the secrecy of the Askari, etc. Also, the irony this creates against the original line of Seneca (ending in "coleamus humanitatem/let us be humane") shouldn't be lost.
"An excellent protector of sheep, the wolf!" from Cicero. *points to Ajax*
"I hold a wolf by the ears" from Terence...for Jette, because he certainly can't let go despite the obvious danger.
Drawn traditionally, painted in Photoshop.
This took a couple of months, because I could only work once or twice a week (friday and saturday nights) because my Thesis has devoured what I used to call "my life". It's fun though (making this/also my thesis)
but I really wish I could draw more....no dA uploads for a month can you believe it homg!
Enjoy!!
